Hello everyone.
I was invited here by Brysing. As some of you know, I stumbled onto SoM a few months ago. I've finally given up there. The blind is now leading the blind and it's frustrating.
For those who don't know me from SoM, I'm a 25 year old married mom of a beautiful five year old daughter. I've been married for six years. I'm in the process of snagging a position as a private investigator. I currently work for an agency, waiting for a position to open. I was planning on applying for the FBI, but I didn't plan on falling in love and having a child, which was a pleasant surprise I don't regret! So no FBI for me. I won't put myself in that sort of danger with a little one that depends on me.
I'm Irish, Cherokee and Polish. I focus on my Cherokee culture the most, because it was what I was taught from a very young age. My great grandmother was apart of the Long Hair Clan and walked the Trail of Tears. She was a cheif's daughter. One of my goals in life is to learn the language fluently so that I can visit the reservation and talk with the ones who live like my great grandmother did.
I started my path of magick at the age of five! I found a chrysocolla on the ground that I still have to this day. My mother told me about what it could do. After that point, I began a gemstone collection and memorized everything my mother and the metaphysical shop owner told me about the stones and their properties. I loved to read and as I grew so did my knowledge of magick and everything surrounding it.
I didn't want to limit myself to my family's ways. I have always had a thirst for knowledge for everything and anything (not just spiritual). But I never read about modern magick early on. I was fascinated by the ancients, the old stuff. I read the Egyptian Book of the Dead, The Poetic Eddas of the Norse, myths and religions of the world etc. Before deciding if I'm going to buy a book, it's resources have to be historical or old scripts. Any "new age" or "neopagan" book I came across, besides a few, always felt like they were wrong for me. I read them now to understand modern magick, but I don't follow them. I started reading them because I became confused when speaking to neopagans and wanted to bridge the gap. I respect them, but they aren't for me.
I've identified myself as a natural pagan for 12 years now. I initiated myself when I was sixteen, which is when I felt I was ready to dedicate myself to the Great Spirit aka Goddess.
