My boy came back from his father's house with a broken foot that didn't get seen to until today even though it happened on sunday after he feel repelling with total strangers that his father met in the woods.
Kid was in so much pain that I ended up giving me some serious pain medication and calling the family doctor about the allergic reaction he developed to the stuff they used to put a temporary splint on the foot.
We go tomorrow to see an orthopedic to find out the extent of the damage beyond the certainty that at least one bone (possible two) are broken. I am worried about them needing to re-break the bones.
Prayers would be appreciated.

I know the stress you must be under my daughter has a bit of an adventures side to her and a few years ago she jumped off a garden shed which lead to her breaking her leg and fracturing a bone in her elbow the worst part was having to watch the the ER team re-break her leg back into position a very painful thing for a mother to watch, my prayers are with you and your son for a speedy recovery.

Best wishes of a speedy and comfortable recovery for your son. My husband is currently mending a shattered elbow and compound fracture of the upper arm so you have my sympathies.
He's currently taking comfrey (symphytum officinale) tea to help the bones knit, so you might want to look into that yourself. If you do decide to try it, treat it like a medicine and not like a drink as in very high doses it can be poisonous. Two cups (not mugs) a day while he's mending is fine.

Thank you for your thoughts. We see a surgeon tomorrow to determine if he will need pins in his foot. His break is at the major joint in the foot and proper healing are important for future full range of the foot.
I'll keep you posted.

My boy will have surgery on Friday and stay in the hospital at least one night. He has broken several bones in the foot and two bones at the joint near the ankle. He will have pins and screws put into the foot to fix this injury and will miss at least 2 weeks of school and possibility be out for the rest of the school year because it is vital that this injury heals properly and permanently. I am stress, my husband priest is stress, the boy is stressed. We are all stressed.

Thanks Brysing. Sorry, force of habit to not mention his name held over from when I wrote about Family Covens. He ended up with seven fractures in the right foot. They put a screw in the largest bones withe the largest fracture and then the put pins to hold the smaller bones in the proper position for healing. He has been given a walker which is much better than crutches for a 5'8'' 13 year old who was uncoordinated to begin with. The surgery went well but he came out with a fever and fluid on the lungs. However, it cleared up quickly. Which was very reassuring. We are home and a pagan sister is coming to cook dinner and I couldn't be more grateful.
Thanks for the well wishes...the boy is Sam.

Have lit a healing candle for Sam alongside another healing candle for my daughters friend who was in a car accident at the weekend she broke her back and is in a coma and tragically a 15 year old boy lost his life in the accident. Healing light to all who need it.
